PWA Kit + SFRA

Product Badges

The package adds customizable labels to products on PWA Kit and SFRA storefronts. Labels are created in Business Manager as records of a Product Label Configuration custom object and associated with products by ID. They render over the product image on listing pages and under the product title on detail pages, with an optional click-to-read description.

What you get with Product Badges

Production-ready functionality delivered as an ISV package for Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

Product Label Configuration object

Labels are created in the custom object editor with an ID, display text, description (typed HTML or the built-in editor), shape, hex color codes for text, background and border, border radius in pixels, and a custom CSS class.

Assignment by ID on products

A Product Label Configuration IDs field added to the product form links labels to products; the value must match the label ID exactly, and a product can carry several labels.

Tile position control

Merchant Tools, Custom Preferences, Product Badges group sets the labels container position on the listing page: top-left by default, top-right, bottom-left or bottom-right over the product image.

Detail-page placement

On the product detail page labels always render under the product title, independent of the listing position setting.

Description modal

A label whose configuration includes a description opens a modal with that text when clicked; labels without a description stay non-interactive.

Mobile-ready

Labels display correctly in mobile views on both listing and detail pages, and the modal works there too.

Extensible shapes

Rectangle is supported today; additional shapes are planned for upcoming versions.

Where it fits

Use cases

Merchandising

Mark products on sale, new arrivals, limited series or free shipping right on the tile.

Catalog information

Attach short, specific facts to products, with a fuller explanation available in the label modal.

Campaigns

Launch a campaign tag by creating one configuration and associating it with the campaign products.

Promotion terms without clutter

A discount pill on the tile plus a click-to-open modal keeps the listing clean while the fine print stays one tap away.

Catalog curation without code

A merchandiser with Business Manager access creates a label, writes its HTML description, sets colors and assigns it to products; no developer or deployment is involved.

Store design consistency

Matching a rebrand or a category's visual language means updating the label record's colors or CSS class once, and every tagged product follows.

Outcomes

Benefits

Complements, not duplicates

It adds label capability to standard PDP and PLP rendering rather than replacing platform features.

Configuration-driven

Business users create, assign and position labels in Business Manager; developers can go further with the custom CSS class.

One definition, both pages

The same label configuration drives listing tiles and detail pages consistently.

Instant turnaround

Editing a label record or the position setting is visible on the next page reload, which makes day-of-campaign adjustments practical.

Scopes to products, not the site

Labels attach by ID at the product level, so flags appear exactly where the claim is true and nowhere else.

Same experience on mobile

Tiles, detail-page pills and the description modal are verified in mobile views, where most browsing happens.
